Glasgow Girls Rugby Summer Camp

Build confidence, skill and game understanding in a supportive, high-performance environment.

Our Girls Rugby Camp in Glasgow is designed to help young athletes develop their game through athlete-level coaching, combining technical training, physical development and mindset support.

Delivered by experienced practitioners and current elite athletes, every session blends sports science with real rugby experience so players leave more confident, capable and ready to progress.

 

Camp Details

Venue: The High School of Glasgow

Dates: 4th–6th August

Time: 08:30 drop-off, 16:00 pick-up

Capacity: 20 athletes (girls only)

There is the option to add a healthy, balanced lunch on at the cost of +£30.

 

What to Expect

Each day is carefully structured to support both performance and enjoyment.

Athletes will work on:

  • Core rugby skills including passing, decision-making and game awareness
  • Speed, agility and movement foundations relevant to rugby
  • Strength and conditioning fundamentals appropriate for age and stage
  • Confidence, communication and teamwork

For example, a typical session may combine small-sided games with focused skill blocks, helping athletes apply what they learn in realistic match situations.

Athletes will be assessed using PlayerData GPS receiving a unique report with VALD assessment data to take away after the camp. All camp athletes will also receive a bespoke Athlete Focused training t-shirt.

 

Coaching Team

The camp is led by Dr Julia Donnelly, Charlotte Dalton-Howells, with specialist rugby coach Steven Meenagh, supported by current Glasgow Warriors player Eilidh Macgilvray.

 

STEVEN MEENAGH
Steven has over 15 years’ experience coaching within the female game and is currently a Coach Development Manager at an elite level. Prior to this, he worked as a Rugby Development Officer across Glasgow, supporting the growth of the community game. Steven has held a number of head coach roles including Cartha Queen’s Park Women, West of Scotland Women, and most recently the University of Glasgow Women’s team. He has also contributed to the Scottish Rugby Female Player Development.

 

EILIDH MACGILVRAY
Eilidh is a current Glasgow Warriors player and was involved in the 2024/25 and 2025/26 Celtic Challenge. Alongside her professional commitments, she plays her club rugby with Hillhead Jordanhill RFC and Highland Rugby Club, and has also represented her university while studying in the USA. Eilidh is the Girls Community Coach at West of Scotland and supports Scottish Rugby’s Girls Player Development Hub programme, as well as U16 Glasgow warriors squad.

 

All coaches are PVG checked, fully insured and work within risk-assessed facilities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
