Glasgow Girls Basketball Summer Camp

Develop skills, confidence and game intelligence through high-quality, athlete-centred coaching.

Our Girls Basketball Camp in Glasgow provides a structured and supportive environment where players can grow their game, guided by experienced coaches who understand what it takes to perform.

Every session is designed to balance challenge and enjoyment, helping athletes build confidence while improving key basketball fundamentals.

 

Camp Details

Dates: 4th–6th August

Venue: The High School of Glasgow

Time: 08:30 drop-off, 16:00 pick-up

Capacity: 20 athletes (girls only)

There is the option to add a healthy, balanced lunch on at the cost of +£30.

 

What to Expect

Sessions are built to reflect real match demands while keeping athletes engaged and supported.

Athletes will develop:

  • Ball handling, shooting and movement skills
  • Decision-making under pressure
  • Game awareness and positioning
  • Physical foundations including speed and coordination

For example, athletes may work through progressive shooting drills before applying them in game-based scenarios.

Athletes will be assessed using PlayerMaker receiving a unique report with VALD assessment data to take away after the camp. All camp athletes will also receive a bespoke Athlete Focused training t-shirt.

 

Coaching Team

Led by Dr Julia Donnelly, Charlotte Dalton-Howells, recent pro basketballer Robyn Lewis, with specialist input from basketball coach Chan Handy.

 

CHAN HANDY

Chantelle “Chan” Handy is a highly decorated British professional basketball player and coach with an extensive career both internationally and domestically, most recently serving as Head Coach of the Caledonia Gladiators in the Women’s British Basketball League (WBBL). Over a prolific 14-year playing career, she competed across Europe in countries including Greece, Turkey, France, and Sweden, following her collegiate career at Marshall University in West Virginia from 2006 to 2010. Handy earned 140 caps for Great Britain, notably representing the team at the London 2012 Olympic Games, and also achieved success in 3×3 basketball by winning a silver medal for England at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Transitioning seamlessly into coaching after retiring, she joined the Caledonia Gladiators in 2022 as a player-assistant coach before being promoted to Head Coach, leading the team in domestic competitions and the FIBA EuroCup, while also contributing internationally as a coach for the Great Britain Under-20 women’s team.

 

All coaches are PVG checked, insured and operate within fully risk-assessed facilities.
